WILD WIZARDS / PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026.
Wild Wizards is made by Hearth Labs. The short version: there are no ads, no ad SDKs, no sale of personal information, and no third-party analytics SDK embedded for marketing. Crash reporting on iOS and Android uses Sentry, described below.
Information the Game May Send
Depending on the build and your settings, Wild Wizards may send limited gameplay service data to api.wildwizards.io:
- Leaderboard entries (only while "Post my runs to the leaderboard" is on): display name, score, run stats, wizard, stage, version, platform, and an anonymous player identifier. If you haven't signed a name, your runs appear as "Anonymous Wizard". Display names, scores and run stats are public: other players can see them on the leaderboard.
- Gameplay telemetry (only while "Share anonymous stats" is on): event names and run context used to understand balance, performance, crashes, and progression.
- Crash reports (only while "Share anonymous stats" is on): version, platform, anonymous player/session identifiers, device context, and a short diagnostic log tail. The log tail does not include your Steam name or any other account name.
- Crash and error diagnostics (iOS and Android): while "Share anonymous stats" is on, crash and error reports — device model, operating system, app version, game state at the time, and a short log excerpt, tagged with a random per-install identifier — are sent to our crash-reporting provider, Sentry. No account, name, or email address is included in these reports. Like any online service, Sentry sees the IP address a report is sent from. Turning off "Share anonymous stats" in Settings → Sharing stops this.
- Feedback reports (only when you press Send): your message, category, version, platform, device context, and optional contact information if you provide it.
Like any online service, our server receives standard request details whenever the game connects to api.wildwizards.io: your IP address, the app's user agent, and the time. We use the IP address briefly to limit abuse and to look up your country. With gameplay telemetry we store only the country, never the IP address itself. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
These records are used to operate the leaderboard, fix bugs, investigate crashes, and improve the game.
Your Choices
Two switches in Settings → Sharing control what the game sends. Both are on by default, and you can turn either off at any time:
- "Share anonymous stats": turning it off stops gameplay telemetry, crash reports and Sentry crash diagnostics, and deletes any reports still waiting on your device.
- "Post my runs to the leaderboard": turning it off stops your runs being posted to the leaderboard.
With both switches off, the only thing the game sends on its own is an update check (it asks our server whether a newer version exists; no player data is included). Anything else is sent only when you choose to: viewing the leaderboard, setting a leaderboard name, or sending feedback.
Website Data
wildwizards.io does not use advertising cookies. The site may send a tiny anonymous event beacon, using a random browser-generated ID and event name, so we can see whether the site is working. Server infrastructure may also receive standard request metadata such as IP address, country-level location from hosting headers, user agent, and timestamps.
Local Saves
Your game save and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded as a save file by the website.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Leaderboard display names, scores and run stats are shown publicly to other players. Data is processed by the hosting and platform providers needed to run Wild Wizards, including app stores, the server hosting api.wildwizards.io, and our crash-reporting provider Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), which processes crash and diagnostic data in the United States.

To request deletion of leaderboard, feedback, crash, or telemetry records associated with you, email nathan@hearthlabs.ca. Please include the display name or contact address you used, and any context that helps identify the records.

Wild Wizards is not directed at children under 13.
